Today was the first day for me to attend PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel) here at Fort Sill. I walked in and was happily greeted by one lady and a few others came up and just gave me a hug. It was so great because when you move and have to go places where you don't know anyone it is always nice to feel welcomed. I had been on the PWOC Board back in Germany as the secretary. It was a great experience and the other ladies were gracious enough to understand that I had two little ones and couldn't go to some things but they were still there and still supportive. Besides God they were a great source of strength for me especially when my husband Zach was deployed. Back to the PWOC here at Fort Sill. They had a few needs to help fill the board and I told them I could help with whatever they needed the most. So I think I am either going to be working the Children's Ministry or I will be helping to facilitate the retreats for the group such as National Conference which I am excited to say I get to go to now. It will be such a great time of Fellowship with other sisters in Christ. I think I will know for sure late on this week what position they want me to help with. I have also started a new bible study which I will share more about later.
Being at the meeting today, I was reminded of my fellow sisters, some that are still back in Germany and some that are now stationed in various places all over the world. They are my sisters in Christ and I don't know what I would have done without them. Some have touched my heart, though they may not know it. Many of the women are such inspirations by the way they live their life, things they are doing with their life, and their passion for God. If you ever needed anything they were just a phone call away. They have been such a blessing and I can only hope I can be that sort of blessing to others.
The military has definitely done something right in helping to support PWOC. I can't even begin to fathom how many woman's lives this group has touched since its inception. If you don't know much about this group and want to know more you can go to their website. http://pwoconline.org I am definitely looking forward to getting to know the ladies here at Fort Sill.
PWOC Program Day back in Mannheim, Germany.

I loved reading your post about PWOC. This is the sentiment of women all over the world, and I'm encouraged to see it being shared. I found your post through a google search for PWOC blogs. Let me know if I can ever help; we are busily working on publicity resources and refreshing the website to truly make it a blessing to all local PWOCs. God bless you and yours. Be sure to tell your ladies about our daily blog and that they can read it through email subscriptions or RSS feeds.
